Surface-mount bases enable fast and easy installation of swimming pool and spa rails  to concrete or wood decks with minimal damage to mounting surface.  As Saftron rails meet all pool building codes without having to be grounded, they can be installed with surface-mount bases in any location that provides a secure anchoring foundation. Only three 5/16" holes need to be drilled to secure each base. 

Bases are maintenance-free, unaffected by pool chemicals (chlorine, acid, salt) and available in the same 5 colors as Saftron's rails and ladders to give your patio a color-coordinated look.

Dimensions: 

• 6" Tall x 5.2" diameter at base.

Installation: 

Use base to mark desired location and drill three 5/16" holes.  Insert anchors and washers then install lag bolts. Slide rail into base and tighten set-screws in base.  For permanent installations PVC adhesive can also be used.

 Notes:

- Use of surface-mount bases will yield an installed rail height 4" taller than rails grouted into the deck or installed with Anchor Sockets.  Measurements indicated on drawings on this site assume the traditional in-ground installation of rails.

- Escutcheons are not used when rails are installed with surface-mount bases.

- 3" Bases (SB-3) are designed for surface installation of pool ladders and not recommended for pool rails.  6" Bases are needed for rails due to the greater side loads exerted on rails.
